Our Story
The Planet story begins on August 27, 1859 - Edwin L. Drake's well, drilled 69 1/2 feet, struck oil near Titusville, PA and launched the modern petroleum industry. 150 years later, Planet Resource Recovery is taking the next leap in oil and gas exploration through the revolutionary application of it's proprietary science, specializing in the fields of remediation and recovery.
Neubauer searched for over a decade looking for the solution now found in the breakthrough science. While building other businesses, he held a firm belief that somewhere in America, the spirit of resource and innovation would provide the solution to the oil recovery and environmental remediation problems. His own family story is one of fate and fortune: well before the turn of the last century, his grandmother boarded a boat in Germany bound for South Africa - or so she thought. Imagine her surprise – and that of her husband’s at home – when her first cable was posted from Galveston, Texas. It is in Texas that the Neubauer’s established a heritage of adventure, risk taking and family success calculated on the standards of higher education, hard work and entrepreneurial enterprise.
In the Spring of 2005, Neubauer found his ‘solution’, a silicon-based technology that could wash heavy metals and contaminants out of soils and toxic water, and could penetrate nearly every organic or inorganic material known to man. Based on the success in the laboratory and the field, PetroLuxus™, the first of what would be many advanced technologies, was born and the Planet story began a new era.
PetroLuxus™, our first extraordinary biodegradable inorganic solution, has the ability to dislodge hydrocarbons from almost any material. It can penetrate sand, shale, chalk, rock and hard clay, recovering hydrocarbons where they were previously beyond the reach of oil producers and environmental remediators. Our PetroLuxus™ product has been tested, re-tested and the results recorded during our past four years’ of research and development.
June 2009 -- Major oil companies and the nation’s largest remediation firms have spent decades and billions of dollars attempting to develop what Planet Resource Recovery has accomplished. And even more compelling, the next chapter in the story of our Planet is about to be written…
