PetroLuxus™

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
-OILFIELD APPLICATION-

PetroLuxus™ is a proprietary chemical product developed by Planet Resource Recovery, Inc. that utilizes nano scale technology to interrupt the bonding of hydrocarbon in oil formations and in soil and water remediation applications. The product has unique characteristics that are based on its inherent abilities to affect ion exchange, interrupt weak hydrogen bonding, increase surface wettability, reduce surface tension, reduce corrosion, and protect metal surfaces.

The resultant chemistry is a formulation that is a tetrahedral silicate monomer with increased electron potential. Although the chemistry is proprietary, manufacture of the products use the natural properties of silicon, sodium, and oxygen to form an extremely concentrated alkali product that has a nano scale molecular structure and can affect the attraction / repulsion of hydrocarbons to mineral surfaces. On metal surfaces, such as production tubing, PetroLuxus™ chemically alters the surface structure of the metal to form a long lasting barrier against the corrosive effects of sulfur, acidic conditions, chlorides, and other corrosive conditions found in the well bore. Further, when H2S comes in contact with the PetroLuxus™ solution, the corrosive H2S will be altered by breaking the bond of hydrogen with sulfur and the sulfur is then converted to less troublesome sodium sulfide.

In the oil bearing formation, PetroLuxus™ formulations readily seek to disrupt weak hydrogen bonding that is associated with crude oil trapped in the formation pores. The natural tendency is for PetroLuxus™ to penetrate into the pore space, break the weak hydrogen bonding and surface tension that traps the oil, and then physically displaces the oil from the space. Once the mineral surface is exposed to PetroLuxus™, the surface is much less attractive to oil which allows the oil to move.

Because of the proprietary method of manufacturing PetroLuxus™, the product is highly concentrated and saturated with excess OH groups. This allows the product to be extremely effective in overcoming acidic conditions and still maintain its strength, when diluted, due to buffering.

Additionally, PetroLuxus increases water wetting of surfaces, surface tension reduction, viscosity reduction, flow resistance reduction, and provides corrosion inhibition to reduce scale formation by imparting a glass-like silica film to  metal components.

PetroLuxus™ products are water soluble and rapidly disperse to readily move through the near well bore area and formation when applied either as a treatment product or water flood enhancement.

PetroLuxus™ products are formulated from naturally occurring compounds and are environmentally friendly, safe to apply, cost effective, non-flammable, and non-hazardous. These products will dissipate into the environment in non-toxic compounds that present no ongoing hazard.
